In December 2019, our best friends, Nick and Jacqueline, threw a party with one goal in mind—to introduce us. From the moment we met, we were inseparable, talking the entire night like no one else was in the room. Not long after, Carly made the first move and asked Ryan out on a date. That date turned into many, and on March 7, 2020, in beautiful Charleston, SC, Ryan asked Carly to be his girlfriend. Just a week later, the world shut down, and we quarantined together in a cozy 600 sq. ft. studio with our dog, Chunky, turning an uncertain time into the beginning of our greatest adventure.

During that time, we focused on getting fit and living a healthier lifestyle, pushing each other to be our best. Fitness became a core part of our relationship, strengthening not just our bodies but our bond. Another passion that brought us even closer was our love for music—especially house music and our favorite artist, Rüfüs Du Sol. Traveling to music festivals together became one of our favorite ways to experience life, dancing under the stars and creating unforgettable memories.

Fast forward to August 28, 2024, in Dallas, Texas, at one of our favorite spots—Arlington Hall Park—where Ryan got down on one knee and proposed. To celebrate, we flew back to Charleston, where it all became official, and had the most incredible engagement party with our friends and family.

San Miguel de Allende holds a special place in our hearts. In 2021, we traveled there for a wedding—our first international trip together as a couple. We instantly fell in love with the city, exploring every corner and even extending our trip just to soak in more of its magic. It was there, in the heart of San Miguel, that we made a promise: If we ever got married, it would be here.

Now, five years later, we’re keeping that promise. On March 7, 2026—exactly six years from the day our journey truly began—we’ll say I do in the city where we fell even more in love.
